Above the front door at Squerryes Court sits the family motto: Licet Esse Beatis, which means: ‘it’s permitted to be joyful’. It has been the spirit of the Squerryes estate for 300 years, influencing all they do, from bottling that joy in the form of fine vintage sparkling wine, to the places they have created for people to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Squerryes shares the estate through experiences, events, delicious food, and wine plus the spaces they have to hire. Joining a tour and tasting gives an insight into the 2,500-acre estate, how they make their wine and a taste of their three signature vintages. Their AA rosette award-winning restaurant, with its dappled terraced in the summer months and a cosy interior in winter, offers seasonal dishes all year round, sourced locally or from the estate. Lighter meals and sharing boards are available from The Garden Café.
To have a taste of Squerryes home, The Cellar Door and Estate Deli are stocked with their range of sparkling wines, hampers and gifts. There’s also a carefully curated selection of English and International wines, Neal’s Yard cheeses, crackers, breads, olives, and artisan chocolates.
