Getting here

Sevenoaks is easy to get to and explore.

There are excellent rail and road links from the centre of London, its airports and other parts of Kent, as well as the cross-Channel routes via Eurostar, Eurotunnel and passenger ferries from the Port of Dover. Once you’re here, explore by road and rail, pedal along the Tudor Trail National Cycle Route or hike several long-distance walking trails.

How to get to and around the region

By train

Southeastern, Southern and Thameslink operate trains in the Sevenoaks area. Services run into Charing Cross and London Victoria mainline stations. It takes less than 25 minutes to get from London Bridge to the centre of Sevenoaks.

You can explore Sevenoaks and the surrounding area using the thorough rail network that connects many of the smaller towns and villages. There are six railway lines running across the area: to the far north via Farningham and Longfield; along the Darent Valley from Swanley to Sevenoaks; fast to Sevenoaks via Knockholt and Dunton Green; across the Eden Valley from Tonbridge to Reigate via Penshurst (located at Chiddingstone Causeway) and Edenbridge; and coming down from London via Edenbridge Town, Hever and Cowden.

Check the local community rail websites for insights into each of the stations, including useful tips about onward travel and local attractions. The Darent Valley Community Rail Partnership and Southeast Community Rail Partnership look after three of these lines, with a focus on sustainable travel and bringing life back to the railway.

CountryBike or Country Hire and Go can meet you with electric bikes at any station you choose, by pre-arrangement.

National Rail Enquires provide information on train timetables and live running times. Alternatively, call 03457 48 49 50 for more information.
