Central Westerham – a stroll

Explore Westerham’s heritage on this walking trail through the town centre. It may be a small market town, but the mark its residents have made on the world has punched well above its weight.

The trail starts at the statue of General Wolfe, one of the UK’s celebrated military heroes of the 18th century, then on to the statue of Westerham’s famous resident, Sir Winston Churchill. The rest of the trail introduces you to the town’s varied architecture, from the 12th-century tower of the parish church of St Mary’s to the 16th-century Grasshopper on the Green. Make sure you pause to take in the views across the North Downs. There are plenty of cafes and tea rooms along the way too.

You can find a detailed description of the walk here.
