Take a stroll along the Darent Valley with local farmer William Alexander as your guide. Victorian artist Samuel Palmer described this area of the Kent Downs AONB as an “earthly paradise” and it’s highly likely you’ll agree as you follow the trail along meandering rivers and over rolling hills.

As you walk, you’ll learn more about the area’s crops of hops, wheat and lavender, and see a Norman castle, Roman villa and Victorian engineering. Download the written or audio guides before you go. The walk is bookended by train stations too.
