The Castle Inn, all red hung tiles, exposed beams and enchanting leaded windows, takes pride of place in the beautifully-preserved National Trust Tudor village of Chiddingstone. The Castle is a traditional English village pub in a grade II-listed building, which dates back to the early 15th century. There’s oak panelling, tiled floors and low ceilings. Toasty log fires warm the colder months. In the summer, take your pint out the to the pretty beer garden and soak up the sunshine as you sip.

The menu focuses on local produce, freshly prepared food and a handpicked selection of wines, spirits and beers, including much-loved Kentish real ales from Larkin’s Brewery, which is just up the road, and nearby Titsey Brewing Co.
